Another deadly cheating case: a man was seriously hurt in a hotel fight in Monroeville, Pennsylvania; the fight was caused by an extramarital affair.
Monroeville Corp. Chad Hoffner said that there is evidence that the victim had a relationship with someone other than her husband.
The police arrested Vincent Serzan from New Jersey for hitting a man who he said had slept with his wife.
The police report says that Serzan confronted the victim, Jerome McCool, on April 14 while both of them were drinking at the Double Tree Hotel.
It was too late for McCool to fight back, and he was later found in critical condition near the hotel lobby doors.
The victim had to be put into a medically induced coma and hooked up to a ventilator due to his serious injuries: all of his face bones were broken.
All three counts of assault — aggravated, simple, and recklessly endangering another person — were filed against Serzan. He admitted to hitting McCool three to four times.
"I agree that cheating can make relationships difficult, but attacking someone physically only makes things worse. We all know, dealing with mental issues is the only answer for making relationships better," notes Wilda Harrison, a relationship psychologist.
