“I just don't think that he could handle that,” she revealed about the late rock music legend to whom she was married from 1967 to 1973. Even after Elvis's passing in 1977, Priscilla kept that promise for over four decades. “To be honest with you, I never wanted to marry after him. I never had any desire,” she confessed. “No one could ever match him.”
Priscilla also talked about why the couple chose not to have any more children after the birth of their daughter Lisa Marie Presley in 1968, according to PEOPLE.
She said that Elvis felt bad that he wasn't there more for Lisa's formative years because of his busy schedule and touring commitments.
In a separate interview with journalist Piers Morgan for TalkTV, Priscilla talked about Elvis's sudden death at the age of 42. She recalled the heartbreaking moment when Elvis's road manager, Joe Esposito, disclosed the tragic news over the phone (according to EW).
Priscilla will always remember the first time they met at a party in West Germany in 1959. She talked about how charming and how funny he was, pointing out that he even made jokes about his style.
