Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist have decided to go their separate ways just three months after they got married. They announced their decision on Good Morning America on April 12. Even though they got hitched in January with a lot of attention on them, recent news suggests they've been living apart for some time.

During their joint appearance on the show, Gerry explained, "Theresa and I had some serious talks and looked closely at our situation. We both feel it's time to end our marriage."
Theresa added, "We got so much love and support from people who watched us on The Golden Bachelor. We hope that doesn't change for anyone."
Their love story started on The Golden Bachelor, where Gerry, who was looking for love after losing his wife, Toni, was chosen as the main guy. After getting engaged at the end of the season, Theresa, 70, and Gerry, 72, became the first couple from the show to get married on TV. Susan Noles, another alum from The Golden Bachelor, officiated the ceremony.
During the wedding, they exchanged heartfelt vows, promising to be there for each other through thick and thin, even mentioning their first date, which ended with milkshakes and fries at a diner.
"We've had some tough times, like a scary moment on the California freeway," Theresa shared. "But I promise to be your rock through it all, and most importantly, to keep having fun as long as we're together."
Gerry couldn't stop praising his new wife, saying, "I've found my perfect partner to share all of life's adventures."
Their first diner date became iconic for them, and they even recreated it in New Jersey shortly after getting married, promising to visit more diners together.
"That diner date is part of our story," Theresa posted on Instagram alongside pictures from their breakfast. "So, I had to bring Gerry to a New Jersey diner. We had a blast meeting friends old and new!"
Gerry chimed in on his post, saying, "Theresa picked one of the best diners out of the 530 in New Jersey. With 529 more to go, I'll be busy until June 2025!"
“You know, sometimes when a relationship starts all lovey-dovey, it doesn't always last forever. Take Gerry and Theresa, for example. Their story shows that not every love story ends with a happily ever after, even if it starts off all romantic and sweet,” notes Wilda Harrison, a relationship psychologist.
