In Megan Thee Stallion's latest release, "Cobra," the question arises: should we be reaching for snake emojis about Pardison “Pardi” Fontaine? So, is that a case, where wife catches husband cheating, or Megan’s fans just went too far from the reality? Let’s see the truth that we’ve got!

Released on Friday, November 3, this is Megan's first song post her departure from the previous music label, and it delves into the emotional rollercoaster she's experienced lately. In a raw expression of her feelings, the rapper touches on a particularly low point, rapping, “Ay, damn, I got problems / Never thought a bitch like me would ever hit rock bottom,” and revealing, “Man, I miss my parents / Way too anxious, always cancel my plans / Pulled up, caught him cheatin', gettin' his d–k sucked in the same spot I'm sleepin' / Lord, give me a break, I don't know how much more of this s–t I can take.”
While Fontaine isn't explicitly named in the track or its snake-themed music video, fans, known as “Hotties,” speculated that the lyrics are aimed at him. Tweets like “Just woke up, pardi did WHAT???” and “He cheated on Meg in HER CRIB?!? Where Pardi at?” flooded social media.
The suspicions about Fontaine come six months after the couple seemed to have broken up (after dating for two years). In May, Megan attended a wedding in Lake Como, Italy, with soccer star Romelu Lukaku. Although they held hands during the ceremony, Megan and Lukaku haven’t been seen together since, fueling rumors of a split, according to New York Post.
Megan's song "Cobra" is a big change for her as she starts a new chapter in her life after leaving 1501 Entertainment after long legal battles. The resolution was announced at the end of October, stating that they had “mutually reached a confidential settlement to resolve their legal differences” and decided to part ways – according to Billboard.
Megan hinted at her label-free status during an Instagram Live session on October 12, noting that her new music would be under the Hot Girl Productions banner. In the music video's conclusion, Megan teased a forthcoming track, as a giant python, symbolic of transformation, moved away to reveal a nest with four eggs. As the snake passed, one of the eggshells began to crack, indicating that more was on the horizon.
"Art often reflects personal experiences, but it doesn't always mirror reality. Megan Thee Stallion's track is all about her emotions! And I think it's naive to make any conclusions about Pardison Fontaine solely based on lyrics," says Jennifer Pearson, a psychology coach.
