Velvet, who is 22 years old and lives in Queensland, Australia, just found out that her fiance had been cheating on her. People couldn't understand how she came to this heartbreaking realization.
She found the picture of her fiance on the dating app Bumble, which broke her heart and made her cry.
In her video, she showed his profile. On it, he had put basic information like his height (6'2") and his Instagram and Snapchat handles.
Even though it was painful to find out, social media users seemed more concerned with one part of the story: the fact that she was herself on a dating app.
One person expressed confusion, asking, "Wait. What are you doing on Bumble then?"
Another was equally surprised, wondering, "Sorry, you could only find it if you were on it also?? Or was this sent to you?"
A third person chimed in, asking, "What are you doing on there???????"
In response to what people on the internet said, Velvet posted another video with more information. She said she joined Bumble because her partner was acting weird and things just didn't seem right. Instead of sharing selfies, she posted pictures of nature and wrote in her "About Me" section, "I'm seeing if my partner is on this, he's being suspicious and cold."
She clarified, "I only made this account yesterday... Swiped no on everyone near me and found him! Recent photos have been up; that's how I know. I've been swiped on, but I haven't swiped and messaged anyone."
She defended herself against cheating accusations, saying, "How am I the one to cheat when I had a gut feeling."
Even though the truth she found was painful, Velvet said she was "glad" she had made a profile on the app. After that, she said that she and her fiancé had decided not to get married, calling him her "ex-fiancé."
Supportive viewers left kind comments, with one saying, "Baby, you don’t have to explain yourself!!! Stay strong; you’re beautiful."
Another person showed she understood by telling her own story: "I caught the father of my two girls (together for 11 years) on Bumble… this hurts! Sending strength."
Someone else reminded Velvet, "Head up! The trash takes itself out sometimes. You’re not okay now, but you will be."
